Mission Statement

Our goal in this project is to send a rover to Venus, and study its geography in order to reveal past life on this hell-like planet. The challenge this project presents is the fact that Venus is over 900 degrees Fahrenheit and rains sulfuric acid. This problem, makes it necessary to find heat resistant, non-corrosive materials. On the rover we would like to include an energy source--solar panels. We would also like multiple sampling and drilling tools and, most importantly, a camera. The camera of choice is the Panoramic Camera (Pancam). We also chose a drilling and sampling tool known as Chemin, as well as Sam, a machine that identifies compounds necessary and indicative of life. All of these materlials will, of course, be incased in our non-corrosive heat resistant material.
